Youth in Construction is an initiative by the Construction Industry Development Board (cidb), SA Forum of Civil Engineering Contractors (SAFCEC) the SA Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE) the Consulting Engineers South Africa (CESA) the Gauteng Master Builders Association (GMBA) , the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and FET Colleges in support of the National Construction Week of the Department of Public Works to give young people the opportunity to experience a wide range of exciting opportunities in construction.
Initiated by industry, the Youth in Construction initiative give learners the opportunity to get hands-on with many careers in the construction industry, from labourer to engineer. Various companies have learnerships, scholarships and bursaries to offer. 2022 will see the first virtual exhibition where various role players in the industry will share information that will enable learners to understand and appreciate the broad spectrum of exciting possibilities offered within the industry.
Schools, tertiary institutions and young professionals will be invited to attend to learn more about the multitude of career opportunities in this critical industry and the bursaries offered by the major corporations. Discover the skills and courses you need to succeed.

Architecture can be practiced in a variety of professional capacities: registered Professional Architects design and manage projects with the assistance of technologists and draughtsperson. Lecturers at universities are often registered architects and may also be in private practice.
